The tourism experience sector continues to grow from strength to strength and Scottish adventure tourism is no exception. Getting away from the beaten track and taking the ‘road less travelled’ is an important aspect of any holiday the discerning traveller might be planning, and there’s no better way to explore the natural landscape than by kayak.
Alison French, founder of Sea Kayak Plockton and sea kayak leader with over 15+ years in paddling approached us to help create something special for her growing business, that would also help the team be more effective administratively.
Sea Kayak Plockton offers sea kayaking training, experiences and journeys from their base in Plockton, taking in the beautiful scenery of the mainland and the islands with trips around Skye and up to St Kilda.
As the basis for a new brand logo and look, we took the clients existing logo to enhance both the design and colour palette to create something that really communicated what the business is about.
Imagery is critical especially in an experience-based business so we carefully selected a range of stunning photographs to use as the basis for a highly visual and awe-inspiring website. Using the new brand logo and colour swatch we designed additional web graphics and icons to help tell the story in a more visual way.
In addition we considered the user journey through the website – how potential customers of Sea Kayak Plockton might use the website to find out more about what there is to get involved with as well as the booking process. It was important to help customers appreciate the type and nature of kayak days that are on offer.
The end result – a brand presence and website that equally inspires and creates confidence to encourage people to start their kayaking adventure.
